I approach my originals like I live my life. I set a loose intention and general idea but leave myself plenty of room for evolution. I believe my pieces are more successful when I give my subconscious room to play. I incorporate duality by being technical when it comes to color mixing, intentional with subject matter and open to changes to achieve the finished result. My originals are a delicate balance of playing and taking it seriously. Overthinking leads to stagnation, underthinking produces poor results. It is more about ritual than regiment. The process is constantly being refined and developed.
